Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the articles below. I did not help with them. I have only read/watched them. I also don’t own any pictures.
I am in no way an expert on sustainable living. I don’t know everything, and that’s okay! That’s why I read articles on it all the time. I think it's important to do your research when you are trying to become sustainable. Not only because of the information it provides, but also because it is a helpful reminder that your'e not the only one trying to better yourself. Being sustainable in modern society is hard. Capitalism is an idol in every heart. Plastic is seemingly everywhere. Using products that are unsustainable is almost guaranteed. Becoming discouraged is easy. But when I read these articles about other people who have struggled, failed, and started again, it's encouraging. My dad says that nothing worth having comes easy, and even though he meant to use it to encourage me to get a job, I think he could've meant a sustainable lifestyle. Down below I've listed three of my favorite bloggers or articles. Each feature holds something special that made it especially memorable. I hope that they encourage you as much as they encouraged me.
Much love,
Tori-Beth
Feature 1
Going Zero Waste is a blog written by Kathryn Kellogg. She creates the most interesting articles about a broad spectrum of topics around Zero Waste. She has posts about what Zero Waste is, Top 10 Ways to Start, and her favorite Zero Waste products CATEGORIZED! All in all, she is a fantastic writer/blogger/inspirational person. 10/10 recommend any of her articles.
Feature 2
Jack Harries’ On the Front Lines- Climate Change is a fantastic video on climate change and its affect on the modern world, and what can be done about it. I haven’t been following Jack for long, but I find that all his climate related videos and posts are very motivating. I especially loved his posts during the Strike 4 Youth rally in London
Feature 3
Lauren Singer’s Article A Beginner’s Guide to Zero Waste Living (PS, It Doesn’t Happen Overnight) is one of the most encouraging articles I’ve ever found. One of the first things she says is “If you try and make that significant of a life change happen immediately, chances are, it won’t stick.”
